I can not live without Pho'. I love this stuff. It reminds me of my family. Growing up, every Saturday my parents would take us to eat Pho. It was something we all did together. My family grew up on this stuff. Eating a bowl of Pho brings back a lot of memories for me. I love it.

Now, I actually have a bowl about once a week and I've converted my Fiance too.

As I stated before, we were on a little weekend trip in So Cal. We spent most of our time at Disneyland and at Universal City Walk. I also did a lot of shopping at F21. I love the F21 store in Anaheim. It's freakin huge, with 2 floors and lots to choose from.

I had so much fun taking pictures, It's a hobby of mine. We didn't have a lot of time but since we are pretty much regulars at Disneyland I didn't feel rushed and the fiance' didn't mind my picture taking at all.

All pictures were taken with a Canon Rebel XSi.

Which is why I haven't updated. I am actually in my hotel room right now, just woke up a bit a go lol. We are actually just here for the weekend. Our annual passes for the park expires today, so we wanted another trip before that. It was fun but so long Disneyland. You've been apart of our lives every year for the past 9 years. LOL.

We're not renewing our passes this year. So yeah....

I'll update with pics later and gotta work on my 30 day challenge too...

I thought I'd share this, I wrote this on my Tumblr account on August 26, 2010.

Update: Since then I've lost 12lbs. Yay!

---- so, i've struggled with weight my whole life. i believe since elementary school. i've always been the big Asian girl, especially among Asian girls-every one's fairly small. i slimmed down a lil during my freshman year of high school, when hitting sophomore year i gained a lot of weight. mostly, due to the birth control (depo shot) my doctor had to place me on since i was having excruciating cramp pains. so she stated it was to irregulate my periods. well that just changed everything for me then. since then i've gained so much weight. i try working out and my eating habits haven't changed (which i don't think is bad), but nothing helps.

recently i've changed birth controls as recommended my doctor as she has noticed my dramatic weight change over the many years.. i am now on the mirena and that has been helping. last year i lost 30lbs, which is a lot for me because i didn't think i could do it. i really surprised myself. i started by joining a gym, using the treadmill at home, and all i ate was salads, chicken, soup, water and i portioned controlled my eating.

well since moving to SF this Jan, i've neglected all of that. mostly, because i wanted to settle in to an unfamiliar place and try all the different places around. well, that has kicked my butt. i've gained 10lbs since my recent weight lost.

i am now realizing that i need to get back on my game and work this out. since living here i've noticed that the people around are different. i've always been the big girl, but i was always pretty much okay in my own skin. but now living in SF, an area where fitness thrives and all you see is skinny people. it makes me feel so uncomfortable in my skin. people staring at me, giving me dirty looks. i guess i was in denial as i didn't want to think about my feelings. but last night i had a talk with my fiance and i told him how i've been feeling and how i've been hiding it, how i've been feeling uncomfortable with myself and that i'm depressed (wow, couldn't believe it).

i guess speaking about it out loud helps. it's just hard for me as, i am a strong person. but seeing myself so down and sad just kick started it. i see that it's okay to be vulnerable and i need to confront my feelings. it helps me feel better and talking to my fiance makes me feel that i can be happy, not for anyone else but for me.

so, i am getting back into gear and finding myself. i feel that along the lines somewhere in the past year, i've lost myself, who i am. i want to lose weight, i want to feel better about myself. i want to be happy.

i know it's not a limited item. but i've been wanting this since it was released in the summer. i finally got one. the other day, i received an email from UD stating that i am on their list to receive the few naked palettes coming out since i signed up to be notified. i paid for it tuesday and i got it today.

Baking - Snickerdoodles

This afternoon, I decided to make some Snickerdoodles with my nieces. We all had a lot of fun and everyone loved them.

I found this recipe online somewhere, don't remember.

Ingredients: this recipes yields about 40-48 cookies.

1 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 cups white sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons white sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
Cream together butter, shortening, 1 1/2 cups sugar, the eggs and the vanilla.
Blend in the flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt. Shape dough by rounded spoonfuls into balls.
Mix the 2 tablespoons sugar and the cinnamon. Roll balls of dough in mixture.
Place 2 inches apart on baking sheet with parchment paper.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes, or until set but not too hard.
Remove immediately from baking sheets and place on baking racks for cooling.

Can you guys believe it, it's almost the end of the year. Every time when October comes around for me, I feel like the rest of the year's gonna go super speed. I have so many birthdays and holidays coming up. You know what that means, shopping! But not for me, maybe a little :)

So I got an internship!!! Yup, for Farmers Ins. I am very excited and I started today. It's so great because it's an up and coming agency and my boss is so nice and flexible with scheduling. It's part-time, but awesome for me since I am a full time student. Hopefully in the future I'll become an agent and get licensed and maybe even get paid since it's not a paid internship yet. But either way, I get credit for school and it's great experience.

After that, went shopping at Kohls and Sally's. I got a $10 gift card for Kohls, so might as well use it. At Kohls, I picked up Elle Open Front Cardigan. I have a related one from F21 in gray, I really like them since it's so convenient to put on. With gift card it was only $15.99 since it was also on sale, instead of regular price of $44.00!

At Sally's I picked up Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat and Nina Ultra Pro Nail Polish in Spun Sugar. I have a Sally's Card so it saved me a little bit for both. Total was $10.68. I heard really great things about the Seche Vite, so I had to pick it up. I really love the Essie Glaze but why not try something new. I just thought that the Spun Sugar color polish was just too cute and a great color for work. I am just added too much to my nail polish collection. I think I am over 40 now... too much huh?

Also, in the mail today I received my recent order from Amazon.com. So I don't know if I've mentioned but I started using the Konad Stamping Kit. I bought the intro kit in the summer. I've had so much fun messing with it but I wanted to pick up some more plates, but they are so expensive. I was looking thru Amazon.com and found a seller called Bundle Monster and they sell you 21 plates for only $17.99 with free shipping!! Yup, no lie! They are not the real Konad ones, I think they are generic but I read online that they work the same and it's the metal plates are cut pretty good too. I say buy these as test run before investing the actual plates for much more.

A lot when on today and I got a lot of stuff today too. It's been a good day :)

I purchased the 3 cherry oil lip gloss set, base eyeshadow and lemon gum. I know weird, but I wanted to try it, I love lemon stuff. I heard really great stuff about their lip glosses, how they are not sticky (major plus for me), soft and full of color. I just picked up the eyeshadow as I just need a quick base/light color to wash my eyelids when in a hurry.

So the free item I got was a full size bottle of the Guava showergel. It really does smell nice, sweet yet tropical. I believe that what I do is no one else’s business or why I do what I do. I should not be held accounted by anyone when we have no business together. My life doesn't affect yours in anyway, so it shouldn't matter what I do with my time.

You see the things you want from an outsider's point of view. But the truth is; you don't know me. You don't know what I do. You don't know how I feel or what keeps me busy. You have no right to judge me.

Last Friday Shopping

I went shopping on Friday. I haven't shopped in a long time. But I have some extra money so I decided it was time for some new stuff.

Went to Great Mall at Milpitas, I haven't been here in so long. Everything's changed and they added so many stores. I bought 2 tunics at F21, 3 pairs of shoes at Nu Pair and Leggings! It was my first pair of leggings, I normally don't wear them since I'm not skinny but I found some that were very slimming.

At Nu Pair, I found a pair of boots. My goodness, I've been looking for for flat ankle boots for a long time and I finally found some.

The tunic I am wearing is a purple tunic button down shirt at F21. It's really soft and long. The leggings I am wearing is so comfy.

I think I look okay. LOL.

Zoya - Angel

So, I am an avid MUAer. I love Makeup Alley and I believe it's a great site to swap and learn new things. I recently just received a swap package containing a brand new Zoya polish. This is actually my first Zoya, so I was pretty excited.

The color I got is Zoya Angel ($7.00), it can be best described as: Soft, dusty light mauve-pink with subtle lilac undertones and frosty pink and silver shimmer. Soft, girly and magical- a subtle princess pink for a fairy tale look.

When applying polish I always use Essie 3-Way Glaze for the base and top coat. It works very well, it keeps the color longer and from chipping. Then I used 2 coats of the Zoya Angel.

Smokey Sweet Chicken Wings Recipe | Steamy Kitchen Recipes

bbq central’s smoky sweet wings recipe

recipe from Greg Rempe, host of The BBQ Central Show

serves 6 as appetizer

3 pounds chicken wings, joints separated, tips removed (save for stock)

Dry Rub
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon cayenne powder
2 teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoon salt
freshly ground black pepper

1. Mix all ingredients of the dry rub in a large bowl or sealable bag. Add the wings and toss to coat evenly.

2. On charcoal grill: Start your kettle grill with a bucket full of coal, wait till they’re nice and hot. When ready, dump the bucket on one side of the grill leaving the other side bare. Put the wings on the hot side the grill. Cook the wings until the coating starts to caramelize and you get some black grill marks, flip the wings and and repeat. Move them to the cool side of the grill, cover and cook for 30-35 minutes (less time if you like your wings juicy, Greg likes his drier).

On gas grill: Turn one side of the grill to high heat, the other side on medium-low heat.

In oven: Preheat oven to 400F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or tin foil (this is an important step unless you want to spend an hour scrubbing your pan after cooking). Lay a baking rack on top of the baking sheet and place the chicken wings on top of the rack. Bake for 20 minutes, flip the wings and bake for another 15-20 minutes.

it's so weird, i use to have tons of post from 2007 on, but one day i just decided to delete all the posts and the blog! I was just too busy, with full time work and full time school. it becomes hard. no time for fun stuff like writing and blogging.

but now since i have more time, i am slowly writing again. i recently quit my wonderful job and moved to SF. i love it out here. its my home. born here, raised, left and now i am back!

OLAY In-Shower Body Lotion

OMG! I am in love with this. I've been using this for the last 2 weeks and i am in love. my skin is really soft and hydrated now, its not one bit dry. it really does keep your skin hydrated and it makes you feel so soft and the smell is wonderful. i love the smell.

i sometimes hate putting on lotion because i hate the feeling on my skin or my hands. but with this, you just do it the shower after cleansing and you put it on and rinse. so simple, but it works.

i am gonna try the quench in-shower line next. hope it's just as good.

i really want to try Cellnique products. i've heard that they are really good. but so, expensive. but good skincare is expensive. maybe i'll splurge when my current skin care products are empty.

i just recently bought some faceshop products. they have a store in santa clara, visited last week and ended up spending $80. i bought the following:

clean face - mild lotion (tea tree oil product to help with acne)
clean face white - post acne brightening serum (to fade post acne marks) (2x)
clean face - blemish patches (tea tree oil you band aid on blemish)
2 different nail polishes.

they did supply me with tons of full size products for sample usage. i got a full size mascara and bunches of soap. the soaps were of grape which helps with moisture, love the smell.

i had a great experience at the store, all the girls were so nice and helpful.

since last week, i've been using the skin regimen and slowing my face has been clearing up and i can see a significant fading of my marks. also the patches really work. i had a few blemishes and the morning after, they disappeared. works wonders.

i hope to see a great progress with these products in the next month or so, as it does take about a month to see significant progress.
